T1 RESIDUAL STRESSES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF PLASMA SPRAYED ZIRCONIA COATINGS JF High Temperature Material Processes: An International Quarterly of High-Technology Plasma Processes JO HTM YR 1998 FD 1998-08-30 VO 2 IS 3 SP 327 OP 337 K1 residual stresses K1 plasma spraying K1 columnar microstructure K1 X-ray diffraction AB Coatings of partially stabilized zirconia with 8 wt % yttria (YPSZ) were plasma sprayed on button type substrates placed on a rotating cylindrical sample holder with given spraying conditions. By varing the sample holder rotation and the torch translation speeds, the pass thickness, the coating mean temperature and hardness varied. Any decrease of the translation and rotation speeds increased the substrate and coating mean temperature, the pass thickness and in certain cases resulted in coatings with a columnar microstructure through almost the whole coating and a much better cohesion. In this case, the stress level, determined by X-rays, was higher. PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/57d172397126f956,423052260f19c0dc,6c1282025e852bd5.html
