AB The phase diagrams of the REI<sub>2</sub>-MI (RE &#61; Sm, Eu, Yb, M &#61; Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs) systems have been systematically optimized and calculated using CALPHAD approach. A set of thermodynamic functions has been optimized based on an interactive computer-assisted analysis. The calculated phase diagrams and optimized thermodynamical parameters are thermodynamically self-consistent
