This paper analyzes the methodology for assessing energy efficiency of University campuses, based on the instrumental approach. There was a research conducted of three variants of energy efficiency grading for UCs of Ukraine according to end-use specific heat consumption, electricity consumption, total energy consumption and specific water consumption. The expediency of University campuses grouping is considered in assessing their energy efficiency. The offered approach allows determining the University campuses energy performance and forming a list of "irrational" energy consumption University campuses and can be an instrument of the management, analysis and synthesis system for energy consumption indexes with the transition from the integral values to the detailed values and back. The paper demonstrates the possibility of using certification to determine the UCs energy consumption efficiency. The proposed methodology for assessing energy efficiency of University campuses can be used as an additional element of international universities rating assessments, since its use, along with existing assessment parameters, shows not only the educational services quality, but also characterizes material and technical base state, the use of energy efficient equipment to ensure the functioning of the university, which would form its image as an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly one, and, thus, ensure the implementation process of sustainable society development.
