要約

Prediction of the air movement and the temperature distribution in the air-conditioned space is very useful for choosing suitable air conditioners or designing air-conditioning systems to offer a better thermal environment. The governing equations are the conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy. The k−ε two equation model is also considered for turbulent flows. These equations can be solved numerically although they need vast computational power. In recent years, computer technology has progressed rapidly and fast computational servers have been available. Using simulation codes has become popular in this field.
The air flow pattern and the temperature distribution in the air-conditioned space usually have very complicated three dimensional (3D) structures. It is not easy to realize the phenomena with the numerical output itself. It is necessary to recognize detailed phenomena, caused by changing design parameters, in order to reach optimum design. Consequently we have developed original post-processing programs for evaluating air-conditioning systems.
