Multi-domain blood flow simulation using multimodal image data
要約
In order to investigate the effects of carotid surgery for a sever stenosis, the authors have been developing a simulation system combined with the medical data to provide useful information to examine the blood circulation in the Circle of Willis after the surgery. Since the surgery affects the blood circulation not only locally but also globally throughout the circulatory system, a multi-domain simulation system has been developed by using the multimodal data with consideration of the entire circulatory system. The paper focuses on three aspects of the present simulation system: 1) pre-processing procedure for constructing the three-dimensional geometry from the medical image data, 2) simulation method using a multi-domain approach, and 3) post-processing procedure for the one dimensional simulation. The paper also presents the 1D-0D and 3D numerical simulations based on the patient-specific data and also compares the results of simulations to those of the measurement data.
