We present an extension of the Discrete Ordinates Method to the case of axisymmetric semi-transparent shells described in curvilinear coordinates. The numerical scheme for solving the Radiative Transfer Equation in a participating medium is given for these particular geometries. Emphasis is put on the treatment of angular redistribution terms. The method is validated in the case of spherical layers at radiative equilibrium and tested in the same conditions for an absorbing-emitting medium confined between two isothermal truncated axisymmetric coaxial convex surfaces radiatively black.
