CONJUGATE MIXED CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN A LID-DRIVEN CAVITY PARTIALLY OCCUPIED BY A VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL POROUS MEDIUM
要約
Conjugate heat transfer by mixed convection and conduction in a lid driven enclosures with thick horizontal or vertical porous layer has been studied numerically using the finite volume method and the SIMPLE algorithm. The enclosure is heated from the bottom wall or from the right vertical wall isothermally for the case with horizontal porous layer or vertical porous layer, respectively. Temperature of the top or the left vertical moving walls, which has constant flow speed, is lower than that of the outside of bottom or right vertical walls. Vertical walls for the case with bottom porous layer or horizontal walls for the case with vertical porous layer are adiabatic. The relevant parameters in this study are Richardson number (Ri = 0.1, 1 and 10) and thermal conductivity ratio (Rk = 0.1, 1 and 10). Compression of isotherms in the porous layer is observed at low conductivity ratio, while at large conductivity ratio isotherms span the fluid filled part of the enclosure.
