要約

The effect of permeability in the fractured porous media cavity is studied with consideration of thermodiffusion (Soret effect) and convection. A lateral heating condition was applied with 10 °C at the left wall and 50 °C at the right wall. A ternary mixture of ndodecane (C12), tetrahydonaphthalene (THN), and isobutylbenzene (IBB) at atmosphere pressure inside the Al2O3 porous medium cavity were numerically investigated. The Darcy's Law, Continuity equation, and energy equation are solved numerically by using finite volume method. The permeability of the cavity is set to be 10 md and kept constant and the permeability of the fractured is varied from 10 to 1000 md. The permeability ratios (K2/K1) examined in this study are 10/10, 100/10, 1000/10, and 100/1000 which cover a wide range of production cavity. The streamlines in the cavity for each permeability ratio are examined. The results revealed that flow field increased in the fracture. The distribution of mole fracture also shows how the concentration of each component behaves.
