Intrasubband Plasmons in a Finite Array of Quantum Wires, which Contains a Defect
RESUMO
The paper deals with the theoretical investigation of plasmons in a weakly disordered array of a finite number of quantum wires arranged at an equal distance from each other. The array of quantum wires is characterized by the fact that the width of one defective quantum wire differs from the other ones. At the same time this defective wire can be arranged at any position in the array. The increase in the frequency of the local plasmon mode with decreasing width of the defective quantum wire has been predicted. It has been shown that in the case when the defective quantum wire is arranged within the array, the plasmon spectrum contains modes, frequencies of which do not depend practically upon the width of the defect quantum wire.
