RESUMO

The results of theoretical and experimental investigations of the spectral characteristics and radial energy distribution of the resonant modes in the shielded layered hemispherical resonator are presented. Whispering-gallery modes are excited in this resonator under certain relation between parameters and metal shield. Their Q-factor exceeds that of the modes of open dielectric hemisphere by an order.
