Radio Detection of Ship Waves at Decameter Wavelengths

RESUMO

Numerical analysis has been performed of the azimuthal dependence of backscatter intensity for the HF radio waves diffracted by large-scale deterministic gravity waves produced by a point-size source of pressure moving over a smooth deep-water surface. The optimum aspect angles have been evaluated for which the detection probability of ship-waves is maximum.
