RESUMO

This paper deals with thee-valuation of transmission delay effects in the remote controlled actuator of a petroleum tank. To make actuator work remotely, the internet is used as a communication channel. Generally, for getting good setpoint response and load disturbance rejection, PID controllers are of best use. To manage the unstable plants in a more competent way PI and PD controllers are taken for use. The use of internet causes communication delay, packet dropout, jitters etc. Communication delay is the main constraint which affects the response characteristics and stability of the system. Here in this paper the assessment of different network parameters, i.e., time delay and jitter due to RIP and LAR protocol has been done. Analysis of response characteristics like settling time, percentage overshoot and rise time of the plant has been done taking stability into consideration.
