RESUMO

This paper deals with the concept of developing a multipurpose multifrequency radar system of the Earth remote sensing. The requirements are formulated for the multifrequency system parameters that takes into account the physical properties of radio wave scattering by various types of the Earth surfaces, in order to solve a wide range of practical and research problems. The implementation of the airborne multipurpose four-frequency system "MARS" is discussed. The results of the multifrequency radar survey of the Earth surface are presented.
