Influence of actuators position on a turbulent jet: numerical study

RESUMO

The objective of this study is to simulate the active control by actuators of nonreactive round jet flow. We are interested mainly in to the amelioration of the mixture of a nonreactive round jet by using actuator devices. The actuators consist of four small jets feeding the primary jet flow. These jets are oriented to add azimuthal components to the velocity field. The tool of investigating is based on a numerical simulation with an approach of large turbulent-scale simulation. The influence of the position of the actuators on the main flow is discussed. Three cases of the configuration are studied to target an adequate control of the outflow, while examining the effect of the actuators a distance from the extremity of the exit on the main jet flow.
