Institute of Hydrobiology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine RESUMOSublethal concentrations of copper (0.03 mg/L and 0.10 mg/L) and zinc (0.3 mg/L and 1.0 mg/L) at temperatures 5°C, 15°C, and 25°C change the direction and intensity of metabolic processes in carp yearlings. These effects were evaluated by shifts in the oxygen consumption intensity, carbon dioxide elimination, and ammonia excretion. The responses observed are interpreted as the consequences of stimulation of anaerobic processes and increased expenditures of protein as an oxidative substrate. Articles with similar content:
