EFFECT OF SURFACE VIBRATION ON FLOW BOILING HEAT TRANSFER OF R-600A IN A CIRCULAR TUBE WITH METALLIC POROUS INSERTS
RESUMO
This investigation was undertaken in order to better understand the characteristics of the subcooled flow boiling heat transfer and pressure drop of a hydrocarbon refrigerant, R-600a (isobutane), flowing in a circular pipe within dispersed-copper porous inserts under surface vibration. The test was conducted at a saturation temperature of 10°C, in which the vapor qualities were from 0.076 to 0.92. The mass and heat fluxes were shown to be 113–1106 kg/m2s and 12–65 kW/m2, respectively. The effects of surface vibration, mass flux, heat flux, vapor quality, and insert geometry (i.e., porosity, mean pore diameters, and permeability) on the heat transfer and pressure drop of R-600a are presented.
