APPLICATION OF THE SMOKE-WIRE TECHNIQUE TO THE VISUALIZATION OF UNSTEADY FLOWS OVER TWO-DIMENSIONAL BODIES

RESUMO

A solution concept of the visualization system in which the smoke-wire technique has been applied is reported. The visualization apparatus was designed in such a way that a single photograph is obtained after each visualization cycle, which is characterized by a value of the time interval measured. The use of the apparatus is limited to two-dimensional flows within the velocity limits of 2−6 m/s.
