DESIGN OF INTEGRAL CONTROL ALGORITHMS FOR THE LATERAL CHANNEL OF THE FLY-BY-WIRE CONTROL SYSTEM OF ADVANCED HIGH-SPEED HELICOPTERS

RESUMO

The design of fly-by-wire (FBW) control system algorithms for future-technology high-speed helicopters (rotorcrafts) is considered in order to provide acceptable stability and controllability characteristics for all flight regimes including high-speed flight. The structure of the controllability and stability augmentation system for lateral motion of coaxial-rotor high-speed helicopters is specified. Structures and methods to determine the parameters of FBW astatic (integral) algorithms are developed. Using the proposed integral algorithms provides the ideal helicopter controllability characteristics and may be considered as the basis for flight envelope protection systems, particularly in relation to the sideslip angle, yaw velocity, and lateral velocity limiters.
