SIMULATION OF FLOW AROUND HALF-MODEL WITH HIGH-LIFT CONFIGURATION OF THE WING IN CONDITIONS OF CRYOGENIC WIND TUNNEL

RESUMO

The work has been performed in the framework of the DESIREH European Program. The investigation has been based on a complex approach consisting of the development, implementation, and experimental validation of the method. Two methods have been proposed. They differed in the way the numerical procedure is organized, and their efficiency has been compared. Specific features of the testing in cryogenic wind tunnels have been taken into account. The results obtained for air within an ideal gas approximation and for nitrogen, taking into account the real gas properties under cryogenic conditions, have been compared. The influence of the wind tunnel walls on the aerodynamic characteristics of the model has been estimated.
