RESUMO

The results of studying some charophyte species protected in the Narochansky National Park (Minsk Region, Myadel District) are presented. In summer 2016, the lakes Naroch (Maly Ples), Rudakovo, Shestakovo, and a small artificial pond near the village of Romashki were investigated. In studied water bodies, Charophytes formed dense communities on the sandy or silty bottom at 0.5–3.0 m deep. A total of eight Chara species were identified, including four species currently listed in the Red Data Book of Belarus (Ch. aspera Willd., Ch. globularis Thuill., Ch. rudis (A. Braun) Leonh., and Ch. tomentosa L.). Noteworthy, old literature records cited for Belarus are Ch. strigosa A. Braun, Ch. intermedia A. Braun, and Ch. virgata Kütz. but lack precise data on their locations. The most interesting locations of charophytes in the park are: Lake Rudakovo for rare species Ch. strigosa, Ch. rudis, and Ch. tomentosa, Lake Shestakovo (Ch. virgata), and small artificial ponds inhabited by Ch. intermedia. In the paper, data on the distribution and conservation status of revealed species in Belarus are discussed. Authors recommend adding relict rare species Ch. strigosa as vulnerable to the next edition of the Red Data Book of Belarus.
