AB An annotated list is provided of 21 species of aerophytic algae recovered from samples of soil, dead wood/bark, and old palm fronds collected during a survey carried out on
Christmas Island in May 2017. These algae are an understudied group in the south Pacific region of the Southern Hemisphere. <i>Cyanoprokaryota</i> were the dominate group, represented by 11 species. In addition, 10 species of green algae were identified.
