The experiments are conducted in a wind tunnel apparatus for different thickness of a porous coating material. The drag coefficient is also calculated for different diameters of the cylinder and flow speed. The experimental results of this investigation show that as the diameter of the cylinder increases, the drag force increases. Moreover, the use of the porous coating materials increases the drag force. The increase in the drag force by applying porous coating is found to be higher for smaller cylinders. For 29.6 mm cylinder diameter, the percentage of increase in drag force is 77% for one layer of porous coating material compared with no coating situation. However, the percentage increase in drag force for two layers of porous coating is 29%. For 49.0 mm cylinder diameter, the increase is 48% for adding one layer compared with no layer, and it is only 16% if a second layer is added.
