Species diversity of phytoplankton of the Dnieper-Bug estuary system was relatively high - Shannon - Weaver index (H) for the entire reservoir amounted to 2.35 with quite high Piel equalization index e = 0.84. The tendency was revealed of the relationship between the biomass of phytoplankton and the river annual yield in the lower section of the Dnieper River. The dependence degree increased from the eastern (R2 = 0.5913) to the central sections of the Dnieper liman (R2 = 0.6415) and gradually decreased to its western region (R2 = 0.4729) and the Bug liman (R2 = 0.446). Just this determined the dynamics of the phytoplankton biomass in the lower section of the Dnieper River and the Dnieper liman, particularly in its central part.
