Boiling on a surface supplied by low activity sites occurs at a higher surface temperature and it is possible for the surface temperature to exceed a permissible value. For devices operating under condition of periodic power fluctuation and cooling by liquid immersion there is the danger of encountering such a high device superheat that the surface does not include active nucleation sites. Methods of lowering the boiling temperature and discussions of various correlations are presented in the paper. %8 1997-06-01
