It has been found that during the period of homothermy in the pelagic zone of the lake, the distribution of Ciliata was non-uniform, which was conditioned by water stirring and by a high speed of water flow in the near-slope zone registered in springtime. At present the community of Ciliata is polydominant with a predominance of Oligotrichia. It is less abundant (500−7600 thousand cells/m3) than that registered in 1926−1928, when it was characterized by a predominance of Marituja pelagica (Hymenostomatia).
