Koichi T1 NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF SINGLE SPINNING AND TWO-HEADED DETONATION IN A CIRCULAR TUBE JF International Journal of Energetic Materials and Chemical Propulsion JO IJEMCP YR 2009 FD 2009-12-01 VO 8 IS 6 SP 531 OP 539 AB Unsteady three-dimensional detonations in both a circular tube and a coaxial tube are simulated in order to reveal characteristics of single spinning and two-headed detonations. The numerical results show a feature of a single spinning detonation which was discovered in 1926. Transverse detonations are observed in both tubes. However, the single spinning mode maintains the complicated Mach reflection, whereas the two-headed mode develops periodically from the single Mach reflection to the complex one. The instantaneous detonation velocities for the spinning mode change from 0.9−1.1 DCJ along the symmetry of axis, and those for the two-headed mode change from 0.8minus;1.4 DCJ along the inner tube wall. Those along the outer tube for both modes vary from 0.75 DCJ to 1.6 DCJ PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/17bbb47e377ce023,2812cf212d05a1a7,7aca68c1321ec68d.html
