  • Comparison of Selected European Limestones Used as Sulfur Dioxide Sorbents
      • The present contribution describes laboratory- and pilot-scale experiments to investigate and to compare the SO2 fixation capacities of a number of selected West-European limestones. These comparative studies were actuated by research work on atmospheric fluldlzed bed combustion (AFBC), a coal combustion technique on which at the moment extensive studies are being done at various research centers In the Netherlands In the scope of the Dutch National Coal Research Programme.
