RESUMO

In this paper a pseudo-spectral collocation method is developed to investigate the growth of crystals using Physical Vapour Transport (PVT). The effect of variable fluid properties and compressibility effects are investigated for both thermally and solutally driven flows. It is shown that although the variable properties are not significant for steady flows the effect of compressibility has a significant effect on the quality of the crystal for oscillatory situations.
