Artificial Turbulence of Carrier Flow by Interruption of Rectangular Ducts of Plate-Fin Heat Transfer Surfaces

RESUMO

Systematic experimental investigation of convective heat transfer enhancement in rectangular ducts of 11 plate-fin interrupted surfaces was implemented with the values determining geometrical parameters l/d = 0.65...3.24 and δ/d = 0.058...0.114. The process of rational heat transfer convective enhancement is realized in heat exchange surfaces and determined by relation (Nu/Nusm)Re=idem/(ζ/ζsm)Re=idem ≥ 1 and it is reliably controlled by the values change of specified geometrical parameters. It is shown that assessment of rational enhancement of heat exchange for rectangular interrupted ducts is equal to (Nu/Nusm)max = 2.78. Obtained results prove the possibility to decrease the volume and mass of heat exchanger cores, operating in the regimes K ≈ αmin, to about 2.78 times in comparison with their smooth duct analogues other things being equal.
