RESUMO

A newly developed device combines the three main elements of decentralized ventilation systems - two ventilators for the inlet and the outlet duct and one element for the heat recovery − into one single element. A friction ventilator consisting of circular plates which are rotating centrally in between the inlet and the outlet duct of ventilation systems can undertake the task of these three elements. The drag between the rotating discs and the fluid generates a countercurrent flow in the two ducts. Additionally the discs of the ventilator act as a heat exchanger. They show a much greater ability to transfer heat than usual heat exchangers due to the turbulent flow between their rotating surfaces and the fluid. The device has a very compact design and reduced acoustic emissions.
