RESUMO
In wall turbulence, a traveling wave-like control is known to decrease the skin-friction drag and induce relaminarization phenomenon and it is worth to investigate the control effect in other canonical flows. We perform direct numerical simulations of fully developed turbulent Taylor-Couette flows with the rotating inner wall only and the flow is controlled by the traveling wave-like blowing and suction. The control effect is parametrically investigated. The torque reduction is obtained when the traveling wave on the inner wall travels in the same direction as the rotation of the inner wall and faster than the rotation.
