RESUMO
Based on the equivalent sand grain roughness concept, a low-Reynolds number and a wall function approaches were derived to account for roughness effects. The same principle consisting in the increase of the eddy viscosity at the wall to artificially increase the wall friction was used to build the two models. The two approaches were introduced into a Navier-Stokes solver and compared against measurements. In particular, beyond the good prevision of the friction increase due to roughness, the proposed models are able to account for the wetted surface effect on heat transfers.
