RESUMO
The current status of the HITRAN (High Resolution Transmission) molecular spectroscopic database, and its high-temperature analog, HITEMP, is described. These databases provide the input of molecular absorption in the gas phase that is necessary for radiative-transfer modeling. Future directions of these archives are discussed.
