RESUMO

A modified version of the correlation-based laminar-turbulent transition model originally formulated by Menter et al. [2004] for incorporation into general-purpose CFD-codes is presented. With this model, implemented in an in-house Navier-Stokes code, calculations of heat transfer in the VKI transonic linear turbine guide vane cascade used in the experiments by Arts et al. [1990] were performed for a number of flow regimes. The same cases were computed employing the ANSYS-CFX11.0 package in which the original transition model was available. It is shown that the modification suggested provides a better agreement with the measurement data as compared with the original model.
