A two-color planar laser induced fluorescence technique for two-scalar mixing and reaction experiments
RESUMO
A novel two-color planar laser-induced fluorescence technique for simultaneously measuring two overlapping scalar fields is described. The system uses a pair of single-color PLIF systems, with two dyes (fluorescein and oxazine), two lasers (argon ion and krypton ion), and two cameras fitted with separate optical filters. The results from two experiments are shown. The first experiment tests the technique for a range of overlapping well-mixed concentrations to demonstrate linearity and independence of the two PLIF systems. The second experiment is a sample application of dual-scalar mixing between two parallel turbulent jets. The technique is well suited for studies of multiple scalar mixing and high Damköhler number reaction problems.
