MODELLING AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF STABILIZED ICE SLURRY IN PLANE PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER: THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR

RESUMO
The stabilised ice slurry is a new two-phase secondary refrigerant; it is a suspension
in a low viscosity oil of millimetric porous polymeric particles filled with water.
It was produced within the MSC Laboratory of the Paris VII University (Laboratoire Matières et
Systèmes complexes).
The aim of this work is to study the thermal behaviour of a stabilized ice slurry flow in a channel of
the heat exchanger. After writing the governing equation of conservation of energy and the local
heat exchange equation around the solid particles, a numerical solution based on a code written in
FORTRAN will be used to present the temperature distribution inside the channel.
