RESUMO
The aim of this work is to investigate and explain effects of compressibility and heat release on turbulence, in particular on the dynamics of pressure uctuations and the pressure-strain correlations. To this end, we perform and analyze highly resolved DNS of temporally evolving inert and reacting compressible mixing layers at three different convective Mach numbers. The particular focus of the analysis is on the question whether mean density effects play the key role also in the reacting mixing layer.
