RESUMO

Numerous studies have been devoted to pulsating and reciprocating flows and their associated heat transfer problems during the past few decades. This Chapter presents a review of such studies with emphases on the onset of turbulence, velocity distribution, and frictional loss of oscillatory boundary-layer and duct flows as well as the associated heat transfer characteristics including axial heat transfer enhancement and convective heat transfer.
