ABSTRACT
In the present work, a numerical study on the production and dissipation terms of the budget of turbulent kinetic energy is performed for a channel flow, focusing on the influence of the Reynolds number. Several energy fluxes are analyzed for wall bounded turbulence due to both spectral and spatial energy variations by using direct numerical simulations of a fully developed turbulent channel flow at Reτ = 180 and Reτ = 1000.
