ABSTRACT

New formulations of the near-wall scrambling and dissipation terms are proposed for modeling the turbulent heat-fluxes, in order to extend the Elliptic Blending approaches of Dehoux et al. [1, 2] to all possible boundary conditions for the temperature: imposed wall-temperature, imposed heat flux or conjugate heat transfer. The new model satisfies the near-wall budget and, consequently, the asymptotic behavior of the turbulent heat fluxes. A priori comparisons with the recent DNS data of Flageul et al. [4, 5] are very encouraging. A posteriori tests on a forced convection flow are carried out in order to validate the new formulation.
