ABSTRACT

Typically the preheat temperature at the inlet of the crude unit heater decreases by 30-50 °C over a 12 month period (2); this loss of preheat temperature can be particularly serious for units which have elaborate heat recovery systems where preheat temperatures may approach 300 °C.
