THE APPLICATION OF LIQUID MEMBRANE PROCESSES IN WASTEWATER TECHNOLOGY. PART 1. SEPARATION, CONCENTRATION AND THE SELECTIVE RECOVERY OF COPPER IONS FROM DILUTE AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS AND WASTEWATERS
ABSTRACT
The paper deals with results obtained by using of Emulsion Liquid Membrane (ELM) for the treatment of wastewaters containing 0.1 − 1.0 g/L Cu2+. The efficiencies of double emulsion AIII/UII/AI (aqueous feed phase/organic phase/aqueous receiving phase) for the treatment of wastewaters were followed by analyzing of parameters: type and quantity of tensioactive agent, necessary for primary emulsion AI/UII; type and quantity of carrier agent; type and quantity of receiving agent and hydrodynamic regime applied (rotation speed and time contact between AI/UII with wastewater-AIII). Variants of ELMs are proposed which due to synergetic effects of parameter mentioned above give wastewater treatment efficiencies up to 50−87 %, in conditions of minimum presence of negative phenomenon of osmosis (swelling of emulsion AI/UII).
