Abstract

This work is devoted to the quantification of particle segregation in turbulent flows by using a full Lagrangian approach, initially developed by Osiptsov (1984), and exploring its potentials in comparison with the mesoscopic Eulerian formalism (MEF) (Fevrier et al., 2005) and (Simonin et al., 2006). In addition, we demonstrate that the FLM can be used to determine any spatially averaged moment of the particle number density.
