ABSTRACT

A series of wind tunnel experiments was carried out to measure wind velocities and drag forces caused by the car-shaped roughness elements with different densities. The model coefficients included in a 'Vehicle Canopy Model' proposed by the present authors were determined based on the compared results of CFD and experiments. Then, CFD predictions using the 'Vehicle Canopy Model' were conducted for the same targets as those implemented in wind tunnel tests.
