TURBULENT THREE DIMENSIONAL TWO-PHASE FLOW MODELLING OF AIR-COAL MIXTURE CHANNELS WITH MOVABLE SHUTTERS FOR REGULATION PULVERIZED COAL PARTICLES DISTRIBUTION
ABSTRACT
The main aim of this paper is determination of influence of movable shutters mounted inside the air-coal channels on two phase flow velocity field and pulverized coal particle distribution along them. Totally, three characteristic numerical simulation tests are presented in the paper. In the first simulation all eight shutters have been in vertical position (opened), while in the second simulation, four movable shutters in lower air coal mixture channels (where plasma torches are mounted) have been rotated 30° in negative mathematical direction, while other four shutters have been kept in vertical position. Finally, in the third simulation all eight shutters have been rotated 30° in negative mathematical direction. Velocity magnitude and coal particle distribution for each computational case have been obtained as result of performed simulations.
According to the further analysis of numerical results will be possible to optimize movable shutters position for the optimal thermal plasma treatment of pulverized coal for combustion support at the thermal power plant boiler.
