On cataloguing of incompressible flat-plate boundary layers

An alternative approach to description of turbulence using cataloguing of turbulent flows is discussed. The approach is based on ideas of Saffman (1978). Principles of cataloguing as well as a simple tool for analysis of incompressible flat-plate boundary layers are proposed. Some real examples, which illustrate advantages of the method of cataloguing are presented.
