ABSTRACT

This paper provides the results of the simulation studies on the process of forming a mixture of ethanol and air in the intake system in a combustion spark ignition engine. Done with software AVL Fire (Workflow module), the simulation studies examined the injection of fuel (ethanol) to the pipe mounted in this intake system. The research was done for eight operational points at a rotational speed ranging from 1,500 to 3,900 rpm and an intake system pressure ranging from 37 to 85 kPa.
