New TTL Method Applied to Microstrip Antenna

The full wave model of the Transverse Transmission Line (TTL) is utilized to analyze and design a microstrip rectangular and square patch antenna. This complete and efficient method provides for analysis of various planar structures that use materials with losses, such as semiconductors, or lossless dielectric substrates, giving the effective dielectric constant (εe) for these structures. The application of the Maxwell equations in this method is the start of the process that will provide a set of equations for electromagnetic fields in the x and z directions as a function of the electromagnetic field in the y, direction. Results for the E-plane and H-plane radiation pattern, patch dimensions, antenna efficiency, bandwidth, quality factor, and fractional resonant frequency based in the TTL method are shown.
