Measurements of the Amplitude and Phase Distributions over the Aperture of a Multielement Interferometer
Краткое описание
A method and techniques are described which are used to measure the distribution of amplitudes and phases over the aperture of the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope (SSRT) at a frequency of 5.7 GHz. The SSRT is a cross-shaped 256-antenna interferometer in which the addition of signals by means of a waveguide system is implemented. A high accuracy of the amplitude and phase measurements of the antenna (0.1 dB and 1 degree, respectively) using the radio emission of the Sun is achieved due to the separation in time of observations and measurements and employing a wide frequency operating band. The phase distribution over the SSRT aperture is obtained in 4 hours as the result of measuring the phase difference of the responses of adjacent antenna pairs cyclically switched and the phase of the first garmonic of the linear array response.
