Краткое описание
The fluid dynamic aspect of the effect of base bleed is briefly reviewed. Earlier understanding on the basis of interaction between the viscous and inviscid streams can adequately explain the three different flow regimes resulting from base bleed or mass injection into the base region. The effect of energy addition to the wake has also been ascertained from this approach. Detailed numerical computations of base flow can be made by solving the Navier-Stokes equations. The effect of base bleed can then be illustrated by providing appropriate bleed boundary conditions at the base.
